LOVED IT: Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare presentation recap

(www.FatGirlLovesCake.com) - Recently, I was at the Hilton in New York City and was invited to attend a timeshare presentation for the hotel chain's West 57th Street property: Hilton Club. The property is managed by Hilton Grand Vacations.

I was told I would receive $200 visa or 40,000 Hilton Honors points for attending. Because I'm a bit of a points fanatic, I decided to go for it. I didn't read any reviews before-hand. I didn't have any plans or knowledge about exactly what I was getting into. I'm a member of several hotel and travel clubs, so I figured it was their highest tier to the honors program.

Boy was I wrong!

FAT GIRL GONE SKINNY: Are celebrities sending the wrong message?

(www.FatGirlLovesCake.com) - In the January 2016 edition of CAKE Magazine, there is an article entitled, "FAT GIRL GONE SKINNY" in which the issue of weight is discussed. While it's perfectly fine for celebrities to discuss their journey, address their need to get healthier and share their story with their fans, some are wondering if their books come across as a low-key way to fat shame women who cannot afford fancy weight loss options.

In a culture that worships skinny, Khloe is trying to stop the negative reactions to her new book in which some critics say she is telling women that the only way to be strong and pretty is to be skinny.

"For the love of God, it's a naked woman on a book cover. We get that she's not the smarter Kardashian, but she doesn't have to subject our children to her family's love of porn and nudity."

MEOW: Taye Diggs! Whatever will I wear?

(www.FatGirlLovesCake.com) - It's been a while since my last Taye Diggs experience. Over the years, I've met him at a movie event here and there. Sometimes, his timing can be often off in person or maybe he just gets tired of being sexually harassed at work by slobering fans. I wouldn't call him socially awkward, butt he can be hit or miss with fans. But, man, he is delicious to look at!

These days, Taye seems his most authentic self when talking fatherhood. When he talks about his son, it can melt iron. That's why I am excited to be asked to be on hand as he discusses his new children's book, Mixed Me, which is a follow up to his first children's book, Chocolate Me. I heard him read from it once but I couldn't pay attention. His pearly whites and sexy visual image made him sound like the teacher on Charlie Brown.
